2013 Flood Recovery Grant Program Wraps Up
We are happy to report that the Colorado Water Conservation Board's Flood Recovery Grant Program has successfully concluded, and all grant funds have been distributed to the program's subgrantees. Northern Water administered the program on behalf of the CWCB by coordinating and distributing the grant funds. All $2,555,000 in grant funding was passed through to the subgrantees for flood recovery efforts. Northern Water conducted three application cycles and reimbursed a total of 119 subgrants during the program.
The CWCB provided funding for the program from its Water Supply Reserve Account. Additional funding came from the Denver Metro and South Platte Basin roundtables. Subgrant projects were located from Northglenn to Fort Collins and from Niwot to Iliff. The program was a tremendous partnership between Northern Water and the CWCB. On behalf of all the subgrantees we thank the CWCB. The Flood Recovery Grant Program's funding made an enormous difference, helping rebuild diversion structures and other infrastructure severely damaged during the 2013 floods.
