Monitoring Programs

As Northern Colorado’s population expands, ownership of Colorado-Big Thompson Project water continues to shift from agricultural to municipal and industrial uses. This trend parallels the public’s increasing awareness of water quality issues and an expansion of Northern Water programs to monitor water quality. Baseline monitoring, begun in 1991, is the backbone of Northern Water’s efforts to monitor water quality.
