Chimney Hollow Update Presented Live During Fall Symposium
During Northern Water’s Fall Symposium on Nov 3, 2021, Project Manager Joe Donnelly gave a live on-site update on the status of the Chimney Hollow Reservoir Project. After more than 18 years of planning, permitting and lawsuits, construction of Chimney Hollow Reservoir commenced on Aug. 16, 2021.
Chimney Hollow Reservoir, which is the main component of the Windy Gap Firming Project, will be located just west of Carter Lake and south of Flatiron Reservoir, southwest of Loveland in Larimer County.
This project is part of a long-term water supply plan that is critical to support our growing and vibrant communities. Chimney Hollow Reservoir will provide dedicated storage to ‘firm’ Windy Gap water rights and ensure reliable supplemental water supply for about 825,000 people in Northern Colorado.
