The Northern Water family lost one of its own on Jan. 14, 2024. Kenton Brunner, who had represented Weld County on the Northern Water Board of Directors from 1994 to 2018, passed away peacefully with family by his side.

Brunner served as Vice President of the Northern Water Board from 1998 to 2018, and was chairman of the Finance Committee for 20 years. Outside of Northern Water, he served as a member of the Windsor Water and Sewer Board for more than 30 years, and served irrigation interests such as New Cache la Poudre Irrigation Co., the Kern Reservoir Co. and the Lake Canal Co.

In the resolution in 2018 honoring Kenton upon his retirement from the Board, it was noted that he “always provided a sense of humor and a bright personality to Board meetings, conferences and tours.” The resolution also recognized his commitment to those served by Northern Water as well as the organization’s employees.
