Kiewit Chosen to Lead Project Development
The Northern Integrated Supply Project (NISP) has hired Kiewit to be its Construction Manager/General Contractor (CM/GC) for construction of one of the project’s major components, Glade Reservoir northwest of Fort Collins.
The multinational corporation has offices worldwide, including one in the Denver metro area. NISP participants and project managers chose Kiewit from among a group of highly qualified competitors for the position based on its experience with large-scale projects similar to Northern Water’s NISP Glade Reservoir proposal. In the region, Kiewit might be best known for its work to rebuild U.S. Highway 34 through the Big Thompson Canyon following the devastating flood of 2013.
“Kiewit brings the best combination of experience and commitment to safety to the project,” said Project Manager Carl Brouwer.
By choosing a combination CM/GC at this stage of the project’s development, the NISP Enterprise can achieve better and more cost-effective results when construction gets underway.
