Northern Water was created as a public agency in 1937 to operate the Colorado-Big Thompson Project, which delivers water to portions of eight Northeastern Colorado counties. In addition, the development of two new water supply projects, the Windy Gap Firming Project and the Northern Integrated Supply Project, will help meet the water needs of the region.

This position is responsible for working with multiple teams to maintain Northern Water’s enterprise applications such as our Document Management System, Asset Management, Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP), Data Management System, and SharePoint. This position is responsible for installing, configuring, upgrading, user security, monitoring, cross-application integrations, and keeping enterprise applications up and running. This position is not responsible for server or workstation operational systems. The candidate will have knowledge of Crystal Reports, workflows and Business Intelligence analytical tools. This position is based in Berthoud, CO and required prolonged sitting and sustained operation of keyboard devices.
Seeking an experienced Control Systems Engineer working in the Instrumentation Control Electrical Engineering department. This position is responsible for maintaining and upgrading existing control systems and designing new control systems. Position includes maintaining, upgrading, designing and implementing SCADA, PLC, HMI and ICS. Experience in process control involving pump plants, hydrogenerations, pipeline and open canal flows is highly desirable. This position includes both office and fieldwork and will be part of a dynamic team helping to make sure the delivery of water throughout Northern Water’s service area.
Job duties for this position are widely varied and include responsibilities for planning, permitting, and compliance for environmental aspects of existing water storage and delivery facility projects. This position is part of our growing and dynamic Environmental Services Division and works cross-functionally with other teams and departments throughout the organization to ensure environmental compliance of our operations and maintenance activities, as well as tracking and coordination of long-term environmental commitments associated with new water supply projects. The Environmental Compliance Specialist will also provide strategic advice for the organization on environmental compliance matters.
Seeking an experienced and versatile water quality engineer to lead advanced water quality modeling and analysis of lentic and lotic environments. Position will evaluate pollutant sources to aquatic systems and response variables in these environments and will develop mitigation strategies. The Senior Water Quality Engineer will serve as the subject matter expert for water quality modeling, analysis and water/wastewater treatment technologies. This position will serve as the lead on diverse and complex engineering projects and will coordinate the work of and mentor other water quality engineers.

Seeking a candidate to assist municipalities, water districts, HOAs, businesses and other allottees. Candidate will support the Water Efficiency Program by serving on efficiency workgroups, maintaining Northern Water’s Demonstration Garden and Conservation Campus landscape, and providing other Water Efficiency Program services. These include education events, training classes, irrigation audits, landscape grants, consultations, efficiency outreach, new landscape demonstrations and more. The candidate will have experience in the landscaping profession, including design, installation, maintenance and renovation, and expertise in plants, grasses, soil, irrigation and water management. The candidate must have excellent customer service skills and a passion for helping customers implement landscape conservation solutions. Candidate must be hard working, reliable, flexible, trustworthy, willing to learn, self-motivated, organized and work well in a team environment. This position spends time in the office at a computer and in the field and will be part of a dynamic team assisting a range of customers to use water wisely.
Seeking a skilled water quality engineer to conduct water quality of multiple lakes and reservoirs of Northern Water’s collection and distribution system and to manage water quality projects. Position will bring skills for big data management and analysis and a willingness to learn complex modeling techniques. This position offers the opportunity to work on diverse projects, both in a technical capacity and as a project lead, interfacing with stakeholders and partners. The Water Quality Engineer will work with a large stakeholders’ group to develop and implement management/mitigation strategies to improve water quality for the benefit of drinking water, recreation, and aquatic life.
