Contractors Gather to Learn About NISP Next Steps

It’s go time.

Nearly 150 industry representatives gathered at the Northern Water headquarters on Wednesday, April 16 to learn more about the contracting and construction process for the Northern Integrated Supply Project.

Program Manager Carl Brouwer, who has led the Project through the rigorous permitting process, opened the day by telling the attendees that the $100 million legal settlement reached with plaintiffs in federal litigation challenging the federal permit for the Project means that the time to act is now. Through 2025, Project engineers will be working to prequalify bidders with the anticipation of numerous contracts to be signed in 2026.

The project features will be divided into several separate contracts for completion. Some components, such as the U.S. Highway 287 relocation, and portions of the conveyance pipeline, will be started in late 2025 and early 2026.

Procurement activities will be available through the Rocky Mountain E-Purchasing System.
