Xcel Energy Project Will Impact Travel on CR 18E This Summer

Xcel Energy is revitalizing a section of its natural gas system that runs from Loveland to Estes Park this year. They will install natural gas line and rebuild natural gas regulator stations in Loveland, Estes Park and unincorporated Larimer County.

Construction work will begin on a section of County Road 18E as early as June 15 and will be concluded by mid-August. Work in this area will include the installation of 1 mile of natural gas line near Flatiron Reservoir.

During work you may notice:

  • Marking of utility lines and utility survey holes.
  • Road, sidewalk and trail closures.
  • Traffic control. There will be signaled lane traffic on CR 18E to manage traffic..
  • Temporary changes to access.
  • Construction noise.
