More Than 35,000 Cubic Yards of Concrete Placed at Chimney Hollow

Concrete was used in almost every area of the project, including the plinth, spillway, thrust blocks, valve house, tunnel lining, inlet/outlet, tower, staff gauge and more. 

Chimney Hollow Main Dam Complete

The tallest new dam built in the United States in the last 25 years is now complete. Crews celebrated the huge milestone during an all-site safety meeting on Aug. 7. 

Final Asphalt Placed on the Main Dam

After 1,000 days, 3.3 million work hours and 512 lifts encompassing 200 miles of asphalt paving, a huge milestone was reached on Friday, July 18, as crews placed the final lift of asphalt.
