Blasting Begins at Chimney Hollow
Blasting at the Chimney Hollow Reservoir construction site has gotten underway, after crews conducted the first test blast on Oct. 1, 2021. As part of construction efforts going forward, blasting will be done twice per week, and in the future the blasts will take place daily. The first blast was at the main dam site where Barnard Construction has been excavating the site to get down to bedrock. Prior to blasting, crews had already moved about 350,000 yards of material since construction began in August. A blasting schedule is available on the Construction page.
