Foundation Grouting Begins on Main Dam

The foundation grouting program has begun on the main dam. The photo illustrates the first “super primary” grout hole drilled 230 feet into the dam’s foundation. The 18-month grouting program will extend a grout “curtain” the length of the dam’s foundation, greatly reducing the potential for seepage paths to develop below the dam. Grouting will be implemented at both the main dam and the saddle dam to increase foundation seepage and water retention.
