Xcel Energy Construction Near Chimney Hollow
Xcel Energy is replacing a natural gas line beneath County Road 18E near the Chimney Hollow Reservoir construction site. This is not related to construction of the reservoir. Work in the area is anticipated to wrap up in early October.
Project Information
Xcel Energy is revitalizing a section of its natural gas system that runs from Loveland to Estes Park this year. They will install natural gas line and rebuild natural gas regulator stations in Loveland, Estes Park and unincorporated Larimer County. Work on County Road 18E will include the installation of 1 mile of natural gas line near Flatiron Reservoir. During work you may notice:
- Marking of utility lines and utility survey holes.
- Road, sidewalk and trail closures.
- Traffic control. There will be signaled lane traffic on CR 18E to manage traffic. Temporary changes to access.
- Construction noise.
