Hundreds Hear About Latest Water Activities at Symposium

About 400 people interested in water and regional issues gathered Tuesday, April 8, for the annual Spring Water Symposium.

Held at the Embassy Suites in Loveland, the Spring Water Symposium brought people together to learn about regional water solutions such as the Northern Integrated Supply Project, Cobb Lake Water Treatment Plant Authority and the Larimer County Water Master Plan. Attendees also met Juan Perez Saez, the new executive director of Water Education Colorado, and learned about issues such as salinity levels in the South Platte River.

After hearing about water supplies, streamflows and work being performed by the U.S. Bureau of Reclamation, attendees were able to offer input for the 2025 Colorado-Big Thompson Project quota allocation.

The Symposium is one of two conducted each year by Northern Water. The second will be Oct. 29, 2025, at the Embassy Suites in Loveland.
