Work Advances at Chimney Hollow Open Space

As work at Chimney Hollow Dam nears completion, the next phase in the project’s long-term development is moving forward from the project’s recreation partner.

Momentum continues to build at Chimney Hollow Open Space with the adoption of the Larimer County Natural Resources (LCNR) adaptive management plan, which sets the course for the construction of future facilities and 10-12 miles of soft surface trails at the reservoir site. County officials are now actively pursuing grant funding to help bring the plan to life. As funding opportunities take shape, the project scope and construction timeline will become more defined.

Acquired by Larimer County in 2004 to protect natural resources and provide future nature-based public access, Chimney Hollow Open Space totals 1,847 acres directly adjacent to Chimney Hollow Reservoir.
