Reservoirs and Lakes

Boulder Reservoir supplies C-BT Project water to Boulder and irrigated farms and ranches in Weld and Boulder counties.

Carter Lake is the second largest reservoir in the C-BT Project East Slope distribution system and the principal for deliveries to the south and east.

Flatiron Reservoir, a central distribution point for C-BT Project water, is located southwest of Loveland and north of Carter Lake.

Grand Lake is Colorado’s largest and deepest natural water body, and serves as an integral part of the C-BT Project.

Located on the Blue River approximately 12 miles southeast of Kremmling, Green Mountain Reservoir was built to provide West Slope storage.

Horsetooth Reservoir, named for a distinctive local geological outcropping, is the largest reservoir in the C-BT Project East Slope distribution system.

Lake Estes plays an important role in the C-BT Project power system.

Lake Granby is the largest storage reservoir in the C-BT Project and the second largest water body in the state.

Mary’s Lake is located in an enlarged natural basic several miles south of downtown Estes Park and is a part of the C-BT Project power system.

Pinewood Reservoir, located 3 miles west of Flatiron Power Plant, is a key component of the C-BT Project power system.

Shadow Mountain Reservoir acts as a conduit to transport water pumped from Lake Granby to Grand Lake and the Adams Tunnel.

Willow Creek Reservoir, located two miles west of Lake Granby, captures snowmelt runoff in the Willow Creek Basin.
