    This is a pivotal and exciting time to join Northern Water as we advance some of the most significant water infrastructure efforts in recent U.S. history. Construction of the Chimney Hollow Reservoir Project—an important component of the Windy Gap Firming Project—was completed in late 2025, marking a major milestone in enhancing water supply reliability for participating communities.

    Looking ahead, Northern Water is preparing to begin construction on the Northern Integrated Supply Project (NISP), a large-scale initiative designed to help meet the growing and long-term water demands of Northeastern Colorado. These projects represent a continued investment in resilient, sustainable water supplies that will benefit communities for generations.

Application Support Specialist
Berthoud, CO

Northern Water is seeking an Application Support Specialist. This individual will be responsible for the administration, support, optimization and integration of Northern Water’s business applications portfolio. This role serves as a key liaison between business units, IT and vendors to ensure applications are secure, reliable and aligned with organizational needs. The position supports enterprise platforms, including Microsoft 365 (SharePoint, Power Platform) and Dynamics 365, as well as off-the-shelf applications such as NetDocuments (OpenText) eDocs, Kofax and Accruent Maintenance Connection. The role also contributes to application lifecycle management, process automation, integrations and continuous improvement initiatives. 

 
Payroll Specialist
Berthoud, CO

Northern Water is seeking a Payroll Specialist to support bi-weekly payroll operations. Responsibilities include preparing payrolls schedules, processing tax forms and payments, reconciling general ledger and checks, assisting employees with payroll inquiries and verifying vendor invoices. This individual will join a dynamic and energetic team of finance professionals. 

 
Senior Water Resources Engineer
Berthoud, CO

Northern Water is seeking a Senior Water Resources Engineer to provide engineering support and analysis for Northern Water and the Municipal Subdistrict, focusing on the protection of native water supplies, water resource planning, water rights analysis, and the protection of Northern Water and Municipal Subdistrict yield and return flows. This individual will provide technical support and management to projects involving water rights administration, augmentation plan accounting and water system operations. The position will also conduct analyses of project operations and potential impacts related to technical aspects of water court, conduct hydrologic studies and investigations using water resource planning models, and prepares and manages various reports. The successful candidate will provide water resource engineering and subject matter expertise to support projects, policies, water supply development, water efficiency and drought planning efforts. The individual will assist in developing messaging for regional water issues, base supply protection and general water education, but participating in local, regional and statewide water meetings, stakeholder groups and planning studies. 

 
Senior Accountant
Berthoud, CO

Northern Water is seeking a Senior Accountant to join the Financial Services Department. This person will be responsible for performing advanced and specialized accounting assignments involving complex and confidential data in accordance with appropriate federal, state and local regulations and guidelines. Duties include maintaining ledgers, overseeing month-end and year-end close processes, reviewing and monitoring expenditures and revenues and record expenses. In addition, this individual will prepare for and provide support for independent audits, analyze grant activity and prepare reports as needed, as well as provide ad hoc requests and other finance related tasks. This person should be detail oriented, possess strong mathematical skills, have a thorough knowledge of governmental accounting principles and practices and have the ability to communicate effectively.
