Nearly 400 Attend Fall Water Symposium

The opportunity for fellowship and an agenda that included the recent developments at Chimney Hollow Reservoir, the Northern Integrated Supply Project, interstate water disagreements and projections about the future population in northeastern Colorado brought nearly 400 people to the Embassy Suites for Northern Water’s Fall Water Symposium.

The Oct. 29 event brought together an audience composed of municipal and agricultural water users, local and state officials, nonprofit organization leaders and more to hear about the pressing matters on northeastern Colorado water. Beyond the presentations, attendees had the chance to reconnect with colleagues, make new connections and engage directly with Northern Water staff at project tables throughout the conference space.

Northern Water has conducted meetings with water users in the region for decades, but as the issues facing northeastern Colorado get bigger and more complex, the audiences are also growing in count and range of their work.

Registration for both the fall and spring symposiums begin about six weeks before each event, and waitlists often are required to deal with the many attendees who sign up to attend.
