Colorado River Connectivity Channel Receives River Restoration Award

The Colorado River Connectivity Channel (CRCC) was recognized at last month’s Infrastructure Construction Excellence (ICE) Awards Gala in the Denver area, hosted by the Colorado Contractors Association, as the Northern Water-led CRCC took home Best Project in River Restoration honors in the “Over $10 Million” category.

After decades of examination and discussions and following about two years of construction, the Channel was completed in fall 2024 and now reconnects two segments of the Colorado River around Windy Gap Reservoir for the first time since the reservoir was built in the 1980s.

Several team members who helped bring the CRCC to fruition, including Northern Water's Scott Zusi and Kevin Lock, attended the ceremony, as did representatives of CEI and AECOM, which were contractors on the project.
