Engineering Technician I
Grand Lake, Colo.

Northern Water is seeking an Engineering Technician I for our West Slope operations located in Grand County to provide technical engineering support in areas such as water quality and water resources throughout Northern Water’s distribution system. This person will perform routine assignments including laboratory work such as collecting, analyzing, logging numerical and visual observations, preparing and packaging water samples, recording test results and other types of documentation. This person will be responsible for gathering, maintaining and entering technical data in databases, as well as plotting data for charts and graphs. In addition, this person will be responsible for maintaining, repairing, installing and calibrating various measuring devices.

Engineering Trainee
Berthoud, Colo.

Northern Water is seeking a part-time Engineering Trainee to join the Project Management Department. This individual will assist engineering, program management and construction management with tasks related to pipelines, pump stations, dam projects, condition assessments and rehabilitation projects. Tasks may include developing and implementing spreadsheets for data analysis and tracking, performing hydraulic calculations, reviewing and observing construction projects and creating and updating maps as needed. This is an excellent opportunity to work in a professional environment to apply knowledge and skills in a real-life work setting. Depending on availability of work, this position may be utilized throughout the school year.

Human Resources Information System Specialist
Berthoud, Colo.

Northern Water is seeking a Human Resources Information System (HRIS) Specialist to conduct administrative tasks within the Human Resources Department. Responsibilities include processing employee data, Enterprise Resource Planning, compiling complex data reports, dashboards and KPI’s, gathering payroll data and more. The ideal candidate will have a minimum of five years of experience in HRIS system administration and will maintain knowledge of trends and developments in HRIS providers, vendors and technology. This person will serve as a lead representative and liaison between the HR Department, IT, Financial Services, external vendors and other stakeholders for HRIS design and implementation projects. In addition, this person will develop data processing guidelines and Standard Operating Procedures, as well as implement and follow compliance requirements in regard to employee data.

Seasonal Gardener
Berthoud, Colo.

Northern Water is seeking a seasonal employee to maintain various aspects of our gardens, flower beds, facilities and grounds at the Berthoud campus. This individual would perform landscape care, pruning, weeding and small design upgrades, as well as assist with maintaining lawns, replacing foliage and weed control. In addition, this person would provide care for indoor plants, perform preventative maintenance tasks and assist with class instruction and training regarding job methods, procedures and proper use of equipment and tools.

Watershed Restoration Coordinator
Grand Lake, Colo.

Northern Water is seeking a Watershed Restoration Coordinator in Grand Lake, Colo. to lead the emergency watershed restoration efforts in response to the East Troublesome Fire. The ideal candidate calls Grand County home, is an integral part of the local community and is driven to make a positive impact on watershed restoration. The applicant will be a proven leader who is willing to serve the larger purpose of restoring an environment and community that survived a recent disaster, support related community organizing and be Northern Water’s ambassador during the emergency watershed restoration efforts. Northern Water is considering applying as a co-sponsor of the NRCS Emergency Watershed Protection (EWP) Program for the East Troublesome Fire, which includes the watersheds upstream of the Colorado-Big Thompson and Windy Gap projects. This position will work with the Natural Resources Conservation Service (NRCS), Northern Water and EWP partners to coordinate and administer the program. This position will collaborate with local, county, state, federal agencies and nonprofit organizations involved with watershed management, as well as private landowners. This is a temporary position for the duration of the EWP Program, which is expected to last through September 2021 at a minimum. This position is not eligible for benefits.
