Northern Water utilizes social media pages for fostering communication and providing news and information about Northern Water, the Municipal Subdistrict, enterprise activities and water-related issues. Northern Water does not collect any personal information about the users of its social media sites. Postings are public and any personal information posted is public. All postings and other content on Northern Water’s social media pages are public, and subject to the Colorado Open Records Act. Any information users include in their comments, including name, may be released through a formal public records request to the media, a business or any other person or entity. Therefore, before you comment on a Northern Water social media site, you should understand your posting is public. 

Comments

Northern Water may choose to reprint comments/materials placed on the social media sites or other media, including providing comments/materials to Northern Water staff or the Northern Water Board of Directors. Northern Water will not edit or alter any posts made on its social media sites. However, Northern Water may remove inappropriate comments, including, those comments that: 

  • Contain obscene language or sexual content (this is intended to be a family-friendly site)
  • Promote commercial services or products
  • Promote illegal activity
  • Violate any law or promote the violation of any law
  • Contain language threatening or defaming any person, organization or ethnic or religious group
  • Contain spam or link to other sites
