Northern Water to Host Mirasol: Looking at the Sun, Nov. 3

Palmer Land Conservancy will be presenting the film Mirasol: Looking at the Sun, in partnership with Northern Water, the Colorado Water Center, Larimer County, and Colorado Open Lands, from 5-7 p.m., Monday, Nov. 3 at Northern Water. The film provides an intimate portrait of a rural farming community near Pueblo, Colorado as they fight to protect their water and land, and in turn, their culture and livelihood. A panel discussion will follow the film and will include: Chris Goemans, Professor in the Department of Agricultural and Resource Economics at Colorado State University; Todd Olander, a fifth-generation farmer and owner of Root Shoot Malting near Loveland; and Robert Sakata, Colorado’s Agricultural Water Policy Advisor for the Colorado Department of Agriculture. Additional remarks will be delivered by Northern Water General Manager Brad Wind, and Larimer County Commissioner Jody Shadduck-McNally.
