Northern Water is now accepting applications for the next phase of Commercial and Institutional Indoor Water Audits. Through a partnership with the Brendle Group, this free service supports commercial water users by identifying water and cost saving opportunities in their operations. The Brendle Group will review past water usage and perform a walkthrough of the facility before presenting each participant with a detailed report summarizing water-saving recommendations. Based on recommendations, Northern Water will provide high-efficiency showerheads, faucet aerators and pre-rinse spray valves for commercial kitchens.  

In 2021, nine audits were conducted which resulted in 800,000 gallons of water saved annually through the installation of high-efficiency fixtures. There was also an additional potential savings of 3.1 million gallons identified across office buildings, schools and a police department. 

Eligible properties within Northern Water boundaries include office buildings, schools, hotels, recreation centers, restaurants, retail, nursing homes, places of worship and more.
