Northern Water Awarded BTWC Founder’s Award

The Big Thompson Watershed Coalition (BTWC) recently awarded Northern Water a Founder’s Award for its long-standing commitment to the Big Thompson watershed. The award was presented at BTWC’s annual gala on Sept. 10, 2026.

“From the beginning, Northern Water invested not only in BTWC’s projects, but in the Coalition itself—providing leadership, partnership, and ongoing support that have helped BTWC grow into an enduring organization with the capacity to build partnerships, implement impactful projects, and strengthen resilience across the Big Thompson watershed,” said Laura Quattrini, Executive Director of BTWC.

Throughout the years, Northern Water has partnered with the Coalition on a multitude of projects including watershed health, disaster recovery and conservation projects. The award highlights the importance of long-term partnerships in strengthening watershed health and resilience.

“We’re proud of the progress we’ve made together and grateful for our partnership with the Coalition and others who are helping advance important work in the Big Thompson watershed. The Coalition continues to be a great model for collaboration and meaningful action,” said Jerry Gibbens, Director of Operations of Northern Water and BTWC President.
