Director Trowbridge Recipient of 2026 Poudre Pioneer Award

Dale Trowbridge's approximately 50 years of dedication to the Poudre River basin were recognized earlier this month, as the Northern Water Board Vice President was honored March 6 with the 2026 Poudre Pioneer Award at the Poudre River Forum in Greeley.

The award recipient is selected each year by the Poudre Runs Through It (PRTI) Study/Action Work Group, going to individuals who have made significant contributions toward making the Poudre River "the world's best example of a healthy, working river."

In addition to serving on the Northern Water and Municipal Subdistrict boards since 2014, Dale was the general manager of the New Cache La Poudre Irrigating Co. and its associated companies before retiring in 2025. During his career, Dale was also a director for the Cache La Poudre Water Users Association, the Weld County Underground Water Users Association and the PRTI Study/Action Work Group; assisted in the development of the augmentation plan for the Lower Poudre Augmentation Co.; and has been a farmer and cattle feeder in the region for many years.
